From the information given in its list of selected lost sound films produced in Germany between 1929 and 1945, the Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv only holds a trailer of this particular film.

This is the German version of the film "C a k polní maršálek," also directed by Lamač. Vlasta Burian plays the lead role in both films. The Czech National film archive (Národní filmový archiv) holds a complete copy of Der falsche Feldmarschall, although the opening credits are missing.
