Short synopsis: The end of a melodrama: an elderly man abstains from the marriage to a young girl.

The end of the film. - Long shot: Palm garden of a grand mansion. A young woman descends a stone staircase. An elderly man follows her at a slight distance. At a wooden bench, she meets a young man [frame scan 1]. She sits down; he gives her a letter. Depressed atmosphere. The elderly man stays in the background and observes the scene. / Medium close up: Man and girl on the bench. She gives him a package. / Long shot: The elderly man in the background. / Close up: the man, worried. / Long shot: as before. The woman says goodbye to the young man, she avoids a hug. Depressed, he stays on the bench and cries. The other man walks back to the villa depressed. IT: En dien avond eerst zag Guy de Soubrau in, hoe slecht de daad was, welke hij wilde ten uitvoer brengen. I would suggest this film is much earlier than 1928; more like 1914. The actress looks like Francelia Billington.
