An old man is reading a story. Shots keep cutting to images of a ghost(?) dressed like Beau Brummel, an intertitle says "The ghost could make himself visible to whomever he chose." A couple hangs around the living room with the older man. An intertitle says, "No more fried potatoes for dinner." They all go to bed. Soon a ghost appearing as a flame with smoke appears to the woman in her bedroom, as the fire in the fireplace starts to rage out of control.
