These fragments are reported to be all that survives and the NFA attributes these to the 1916 Thanhouser production of “Hidden Valley.” However, the woman in these clips has been identified as Florence Labadie and not Valkyrien ("white goddess" to a tribe of ostrich hunters) who is credited with being in this production. No credit was given for Labadie in this film. The rest of the cast that was publicly credited for the film was Boyd Marshall (missionary), Ernest Warde (high priest of the savage tribe), Arthur Bauer (feather importer), Maud Traveller, Pauline Taylor, Jack Doolittle, and approximately 500 black extras (as "African natives"). The frames seem to match the story line but we are unsure due to the credit given to Valkyrien and none to Labadie.
Can anyone positively identify this film as "Hidden Valley" or another production?
