Fragment of a military slapstick comedy. A quiet soldier. - IT: "Melde gehorsamst, daß der Bischof sofort nach der Firmung kommt!" ("Reporting for duty, Sir. The bishop is coming immediately after the confirmation!") [frame scan 1] – The soldier explains [frame scan 2]. IT: "Hans Meier aus Trimsfelden, Herr General, der Ltn. Fehlhuber kennt mich näher, dös is mei Geschwisterkind - - -" ("Hans Meier from Trimsfelden, General, Lieutenant Fehlhuber knows me. This is my sibling - - -") - The adjutant welcomes the bishop and informs the General of the bishop's arrival. The bishop enters the General's room. The General frets about the soldier [frame scan 3] and sends him out. The General and the bishop stay behind, breaking out in laughter as if they had just heard a funny joke. - The bishop leaves the General's room. In the corridor, the General [frame scan 4] scolds the soldier again [frame scan 5].

Below the synopsis in the Deutsche Kinemathek's original database entry, there is the anonymous comment 'Hans Albers as a sailor'. However, neither Hans Albers nor a sailor appear in the film. No main title. All intertitles bear the company name “Münchner Kunstfilm P. Ostermayr". Going by the title, the film could be "Der Hautpmann-Stellvertreter" (1917, 2 acts, 544 m) with Fritz Kampers. However, this is just an unverified assumption.
