John (also written as Jack in the intertitles) Armstrong receives a letter of Miss Mary Smith. She will visit Willon River Valley on Thursday and asks if they can travel together. She is searching for her father and has just been talking to the local sheriff. Just when she enters the coach the sheriff receives a letter with a picture of her father David Smith. He is just in time to give it to her. Meanwhile the gang of Black Jim is preparing to rob the coach that also transports the money of the Ajax Mining Company. A cowboy happens to overhear this and warns the coach. What follows is a fight and a chase of the coach gone wild. John and Mary hide themselves and get away to Johns house. He goes away to get help while Mary stays behind. Black Jim enters the house and threatens Mary. She sees that he looks like the picture of her father the sheriff gave her, but he denies and gets angry. He demands ammunition. John comes to save her but he does not want to shoot Black Jim because he could be Mary's father. Then the deputy sheriff enters with a letter telling that Mary got the wrong photo. The correct photo looks like the deputy sheriff and he turns out to be her father. Black Jim tries to escape but is shot. With the reward Jack and Mary can get married with the blessing of her father.

Notes: We already asked someone about the film the reply was: "I recognize Pete Morrison, but it's difficult to pin down which film. It's likely from 1922 or 1923, when he made many low budget films that are difficult to identify because plot lines are not usually described. If I knew the woman in the photos, which I don't so far, I might be able to narrow it down, but most of his co-stars from this period are not listed either."
